Peterborough – Maryam Monsef, Member of Parliament for Peterborough—Kawartha, will host a dialogue with women in the riding from an assortment of different professions. Participants in the dialogue will discuss their experiences within their chosen career path, highlighting any barriers they have faced based on their gender and their views on how to break down future barriers in the workplace.
The event is being held as part of Canada’s first ever Gender Equality Week taking place from Sept. 23-29. Gender Equality Week is an opportunity to celebrate the progress Canada has made to date in advancing gender equality, while reflecting on the work that remains to make sure that everyone – regardless of their gender – has an equal and fair chance at success.
